Online Couples Therapy Across PSYPACT States – Reconnect from Anywhere

    Because Love Knows No Distance

Even when you and your partner live apart—or your busy schedules make it hard to meet in person—you can still rebuild your emotional connection.

Through online couples therapy, I help partners across PSYPACT states find safety, trust, and closeness again—no matter the distance.

I’m Dr. Irena, a licensed psychologist in TX, NY, and PSYPACT states and a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (EFT). With over 25 years of experience helping couples heal from conflict, betrayal, and disconnection, I offer online sessions that make therapy both accessible and deeply personal.

What Is PSYPACT—and Why It Matters

PSYPACT (The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) allows licensed psychologists to provide telehealth services across participating states.

That means if you live in a PSYPACT state, or if you and your partner live in different states, I can legally and ethically provide online couples therapy for both of you.

This flexibility helps couples who might otherwise struggle to find specialized EFT therapy where they live—or who are balancing careers, travel, or relocation.

You can work with me online if you live in any PSYPACT state, including (examples as of 2025):
Texas, New York, Florida, Colorado, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Illinois, Washington D.C., and over 40 others.

(For the most current list of PSYPACT states, visit www.psypact.org).

    How Online Couples Therapy Works

Online sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that protects your privacy and makes it easy to connect from your own space.

    Each partner can join from:

    • The same room together, or
    • Separate locations—perfect for couples in different cities or states.

All you need is a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection.

Online therapy is not just convenient—it’s effective. Research shows that teletherapy can be just as successful as in-person therapy when delivered through a strong therapeutic relationship and structured, evidence-based methods like EFT.

How Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Helps Online

Even across a screen, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) creates powerful moments of understanding and change.

EFT helps couples identify and heal the emotional patterns that lead to conflict, silence, or withdrawal. It creates a safe space where you can reach for each other with empathy instead of fear.

Through online EFT, you and your partner will learn to:

    • Recognize and de-escalate your negative communication cycle.
    • Share emotions and needs in ways that bring closeness.
    • Repair trust after betrayal or emotional distance.
    • Strengthen intimacy and responsiveness in your daily life.

EFT is supported by more than 30 years of research, showing that 70–75% of couples move from distress to recovery, and up to 90% experience significant improvement (Johnson et al., 2005; Wiebe et al., 2017).

Whether you’re healing from infidelity, struggling to reconnect after a major life change, or simply feeling emotionally distant, EFT provides a roadmap toward lasting safety and connection.

    • The same evidence-based effectiveness as in-person sessions.

Many couples begin online therapy unsure if it will “feel the same”—but find that the emotional presence, structure, and safety of EFT transcend the screen.
